SWADA

LSIDB hosted the Spring meeting of SWADA (South West Association of Drainage Authorities) which was held at Eastwood Park Country House, Falfield, Gloucestershire on Wednesday 8^th May 2024.

The day began with Colin Taylor, from the Environment Agency, leading a fascinating coach tour of ASEA (Avonmouth and Severnside Enterprise Area) including stopping the coach in Aust and Severn Beach to explain the EA’s vision for the project.

After lunch we then listened to engaging keynote speakers on subjects including changes in legislation, de-maining rivers, the consultation on land valuation SI completion, SuDS/ ADA, changes to DRS, funding opportunities, paludiculture and much more.

The next SWADA AGM will be on Wednesday 27^th November 2024 and we look forward to hearing more water industry updates.
