CLA Southwest AGM 2024

CLA Southwest AGM held at Hill Court, Berkeley

Vicky Bailey was delighted to attend the CLA Southwest AGM on behalf of Lower Severn Internal Drainage Board on Thursday 12th September 2024. The meeting highlighted the importance of the rural economy to the attendees, who form part of the CLA's 26,000 members.

Some LSIDB ratepayers also attended alongside Vicky, and interesting discussions were had on subjects such as succession planning, the importance of MP's understanding how essential UK agriculture is to the economy, upcoming government policies, ELMS, planning law and biodiversity net gain.

Thomas Jenner-Fust generously provided a tour of his beautiful home and gardens. Amongst his collection of local artefacts was a stunning map detailing the land around Rockhampton in the 18th Century which made fascinating viewing when comparing the landscape then and now.
